Online Gaming In A Quantum Leap

December 21st, 2005 at 10:15 am (Net Buzz)

Malaysian telecommunications company Digi has launched the world’s first mobile massive multiplayer online game.

The new cross-platform game can be played interchangeably on your computer and mobile phone, and allows gamers to engage opponents from all over the world in real time.

The Aterians have landed and they want to take over the planet; but a coalition of so-called good guys, made up of Humans, Firans, Brucians and Taikuusans, are all geared up to stop them.

This is the story of Hinter Wars, a first of its kind cross-platform mobile online game.

Developed exclusively by Singapore gaming software company Activate for Nokia, it can be played on both PCs and mobile phones. Gamers can play simultaneously with tens of thousands of people, trade items and team up for conquests.

They can also seamlessly switch between their PC and mobile phone on the move. This is only the beta version of the game, and the commercial version will only be available in a couple of month’s time.

By then, gamers would have to pay to download the game, and of course once connected, to pay for GPRS charges as well.
